Should have asked a local workshop to pass that huge slab through a band saw and kept the off cut for another project. How heavey is the finished trailer? Ps you mention cocking around things?

Experiencing a snowstorm at an off-grid cabin must be both challenging and incredibly beautiful. This video captures the raw power of nature and the peaceful isolation of cabin life during such intense weather. It's a reminder of the resilience required to live off-grid and the stunning landscapes that surround us.

Good video and covers most of the tips. You didn't mention water which is a primary factor in off grid living. You can hand drill a well if the water table is high or have a well drilled (expensive) , collect rain water and filter it or haul in water. Set up your cabin like a self contained RV with an inside water tank and 12 volt pump. My power system is 1.4Kw solar and 800Ah of LFP batteries and runs everything and I have most modern conveniences without running a genny. Also go to a local lumber mill and you can buy green cut wood for porches and check the dumpsters for left over flooring and trim and ask for scratch and dent and most suppliers will sell them cheap. -LaMar

I did enjoy seeing this build, and I'm impressed. I have a question, though. If you had to do it over again, would you incorporate the aerodynamic addition into the original build, and just finish it off with the aluminum siding? Could you have made use of the extra triangle of space as storage, with access from the inside? Would that have been practical? Thanks for sharing your great efforts.

not that you asked or care ...but just FYI the type of screws you use are terrible. If you switch to square drive you will be in love and never turn back. those Torx screws suck, they cam out too easy. the square drives are the best for many reasons.

this is a great build! I am going to be building a camper "pod" for my flatbed trailer, its. a16' car hauler type trailer , tandem axle so it can handle some weight but I want to keep it lite so I can remove it , kind of the same concept as a cab over camper for a truck . but on a trailer. been trying to think of the best way to frame it out and especially for the roof/waterproofing, this just gave me all the answers. not as complicated as I was making it out to be in my head. I am a cabinet maker so I am more than capable of doing it I just was really over thinking it. Thanks for this.
